Van Gogh, The Starry Night at the Atelier des Lumières.

The new immersive exhibition in the Atelier des Lumières projects the paintings of Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) on a grand scale. Complete with musical accompaniment this production retraces the intense life of the artist. The visual and musical aspects are meticulously put together by Gianfranco Iannuzzi, Renato Gatto, and Massimiliano Siccardi. They highlight the chromatic richness of his palette, as well as the potency of his drawings.

Numerous works are explored, retracing stages in Van Gogh's life, his style radically evolved over the years, from The Potato Eaters (1885), Sunflowers (1888) and Starry Night (1889) to Bedroom at Arles (1889). The Dutch painter’s expressive and powerful brushstrokes are exhibited, as well as his use of the bold colours.

In he centre of the Atelier there is a selection of van Gogh’s famous paintings that are represented in their entirety and accompanied by commentaries about his oeuvre and the museum itself.

From the 22nd of February to the 31st December 2019 at the Atelier des Lumières
