Renoir, Père et Fils. Peinture et Cinéma
"Son of", Jean Renoir never hid from it. The Musée d'Orsay organizes a rather unusual exhibition within its walls as it launches a bridge between cinema and painting. One of the most respected directors of his time, Jean Renoir, is nonetheless the son of one of the greatest French painters: Pierre-Auguste Renoir. How did the art of a father feed a son? What are the relations between painting and cinema? An exhibition that promises to be exciting.
The relationship between Pierre-Auguste and Jean was interspersed with interwoven portraits, between a son who posed for his father without ever filming him, but who spent almost twenty years drafting his biography, which is still widely read today.
From the 6th of November 2018 to the 27th of January 2019 at the Musée D'Orsay
