Yves Saint Laurent: Dreams of the Orient

Yves Saint Laurent: Dreams of the Orient.

As the first temporary thematic exhibition since its opening in Paris in October 2017, “Yves Saint Laurent: Dreams of the Orient” will bring together approximately fifty haute couture designs inspired by India, China and Japan. Yves Saint Laurent's vision was both literal and imaginary. From the start of his collections he has reincarnated the sumptuous coats of Indian sovereigns.

These pieces from the collection of the Museum will be displayed in dialogue with Asian artworks borrowed from the Musée national des arts asiatiques - Guimet and private collectors. As well as his infamous Opium perfume whose scandal gave it renowned global success.

From the 2nd of October 2018 to the 27th January 2019 at Musée Yves Saint Laurent
