Cézanne and the Master Painters. Dreams of Italy, at Musée Marmottan Monet

Cezanne's works will be presented alongside pictures by the great Italian masters from the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. For the first time, an incredible selection of pieces by one of the foudners of Cubism and others such as Tintoretto, El Greco, Ribera, Poussin, Boccioni and Morandi.

This exhibit displays around sixty masterpieces from private and public international collections. The exhibition begins with a section illustrationg the importance of Latin culture in Cézanne’s work how he drew inspiration from his predecessors to discover his “new” works. His work had a strong Italian influence, and he himself inspired Italian artists. The second part of the exhibit, displays works by the masters of the Novecento and the influence of Cézanne, and his pivotal role in the art of the 20th century.
